Celebrating 40 Years of Possibility
New Ventures West: 40th Anniversary

To move forward, we must start by looking back.
Our initial partnership with New Ventures West focused on a major rebranding and a fresh website that honored their legacy in integral coaching with more distinct audiences in mind, plus a holistic design that would propel their practice into the future.
This time around, New Ventures West asked us to look back at our collaboration together, dusting off the covers of strategy decks and visual design presentations to realign ourselves with where we ultimately landed with their brand.
With fresh eyes, we were eager to create a new logo mark that celebrates 40 years of New Ventures West’s history and looks forward to many more years in the field.

Background
Back in 2022, New Ventures West reached out to us to overhaul their existing brand. Despite being well established in the integral coaching arena, New Ventures West was lacking slightly in a cohesive brand identity and focused audience groups. Additionally, the website needed a redo.

Throughout a thoughtful and winding partnership together, their new brand was thrust forward into the world.
The goal was to create something rooted in flow, vitality and nature while also striking a trustworthy and stable balance that would appeal to a more corporate audience. The collaboration between Elaine Hancock, our Associate Director of Strategy, and Senior Designer Dean Sweetnich ultimately resulted in a verbal identity that clearly articulated New Ventures West’s purpose and value, and a visual identity that was as bold and grounding as it was soft spoken and inviting.



In language and design, Firebelly created a brand and design system that would propel their long-established work forward.
A 40th Anniversary Sprint
This year, New Ventures West posed us with an exciting opportunity: reimagine the existing logo to celebrate 40 years of cultivating wisdom and growth; uplift the design of their Distinctions newsletter; and enhance the usability of the website’s Resources page in less than three weeks’ time. We love a good sprint over here, so we were up for the challenge.

Taking lead on both strategy and design this round, our design team expedited our discovery process by creating a client survey to gauge internal alignment on the look, feel, and overall celebratory tone of the logo. Folks delivered a tonal spectrum that nodded to attributes like gratitude, curiosity, and inspiration. There was also nearly unanimous agreement that the 40th Anniversary logo should still nod to the original logo’s fluid, forward motion.
