Make Believe

Following the success of the Wicker Park Bucktown ad campaign, Firebelly was tasked to select 10 vacant neighborhood storefronts to transform into an interactive art installation that would promote the area's richly diverse character while supporting local artists and commerce. After a nationwide call for proposals, 10 chosen artists received $1,000 to create long-term installations in assigned spaces. Professionally curated walking tours maintained community and tourist engagement while Firebelly partner, Pivotal Production, led a major social media push to solicit public votes for a favorite piece. In the wake of Make Believe, three storefronts attracted new business occupants, and one artist was invited to work with the Joffrey Ballet.
