2007 Illinois Safe Schools Alliance
The Alliance promotes safety, support and healthy development for LGBTQ youth in Illinois schools. Formed by the merger of GLSEN Chicago and the Coalition for Education on Sexual Orientation, the Alliance needed a new brand identity to connect the two groups and unify their image. The brand we developed—and the materials that followed—bridged the gap and appealed to a wide audience that included: administrators, teachers, parents, gay students and straight allies. Focusing on the unity represented by the organization, we highlighted their advocacy and education efforts and helped smooth the transition.
