We had some questions about how everyone reads our blog, so rather than robo-dialing you all at 3:00 AM in the morning, we decided to create a short survey. Don’t worry, it’s easy, I promise.
There’s only six questions. It’s all multiple choice, except for one short answer which is optional, and no essay questions! Yay!

This morning, I was happily zipping through my feeds and came across a few links back to some new fonts of interest. Visiting these links fired up an old frustration I've carried for years. More often then not, big foundries or sites that host many fonts from many different sources, big and small, rarely provide insight into the type designer's thought and design process. Sure, there are sites like Typedia and Typophile, but one is fairly new to the world and the other is a public forum about general type speak.
The real reason this bugs me is because I'm always promoting type knowledge and history. This is pretty easy to do with the oldies and classics, but what about the new stuff? The book hasn't been written on what's happening to design, type, art and the creative world as a whole. I'd love to see the big distributors give more credit and insight in the write up. You can dig through the smaller designer sites for this and actually find it if you're lucky. I feel it should be more universal, robust and introspective. We use these types as a daily practice. Any extra info can only help make educated decisions alongside the purely visual ones.
I'll make the promise when I start distributing fonts I will let everyone know what went into my concoction!
(if you know of any great resources out there, please share below!)

If you are in the area, you can drop off at our studio — otherwise, please send them yourself. We are closed on Monday for MLK, but anytime on Tuesday would be great. If you think you won’t be able to get them here on Tuesday, then please send them to the Miami address. Thanks so much!
