What's Sleep For Anyway?

June 25, 2009 by Dawn Hancock

What great fun we're all having at Camp Firebelly, even dispite the 2-3 hours of sleep each night and the brownout that lost powere to our neighborhood for 12 hours right before our first presentation.

Well, all the secrets are out. The client is Radio Arte. The tasks at hand include a website redesign, a promo silkscreened poster and an interior showcase studio design. No small potatoes.

In addition, they have been given 2 more projects. The first from The Post Family; to begin the conversation and/or call for submissions for a collaborative piece. Might end up as a website, a zine, a mail art project or even sketchbook. Big idea is to just move towards a goal with at least one other person.

And tonight's project was the icing on the oh, so sweet cake. Create an album cover for the band Hey Champ's debut release. The album drops in Sept on Lupe Fiasco's label and the band is opening for Depeche Mode at Lollapaloza. Pretty cool, right? That is all thanks to the fine crew at Someoddpilot.

I'm super proud of their first presentation to Radio Arte today. All went really, really well, especially given the extranious circumstances. Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings... they have a final presentation + then will be wisked off to the AIGA Annual Members Meeting. Hope to see you there (you'll know who they all are...trust me!)

Oh and if you haven't already been watching... check out what we're up to on our live webcam. It's creepy + fun!

Too Much?

June 15, 2009 by Darren McPherson

With graduation being a recent event in my life, the task of putting together my personal website, resume and business cards was an important necessity.  In the end I went with something clean and typographic.

I figured this was a logical approach that would give me the ability to subtly display the design skills I've developed over the years... that is, until I was shown this clip.

Too bad I didn't see it earlier right?
