Sedentary professions (aka desk jobs) like design or development usually require sitting in front of a screen for 8 to 10 hours while being pumped full of positive ions. All this inactivity and "bad vibes" can really take a toll on your body. So a few years ago, I got back into running.
Logging 3 miles a day, becoming a vegetarian (thanks, Dawn!) and getting serious about a healthier routine made me a lot less stressed and gave me more energy to—ironically enough—be more productive with an hour less sleep per day. I took a break this winter (substituting weights for running shoes) after a minor knee injury, holiday gluttony and a wicked case of Pernio sidelined me. But no more excuses! It's almost March and I'm picking up a fresh pair of New Balances this weekend. I just wish the warm weather was here already. Thanks to Eirik Solheim, the spring could be just seconds away!
Any tips for beating the winter blues and getting out from under your computer's mind control? Let me know!

Beginning on July 1, 2009 three of my good friends, Seth Williams, and the Sasso brothers, Ben and Tony, will be riding their bicycles from St. Augustine, FL to San Diego, CA spreading the word about a new organization called Falling Whistles. Falling Whistles has been established to raise awareness about child soldiers in the Democratic Republic of Congo. They'll be giving presentations in towns and cities along the way about the violence of the Congo and the children who are forced to fight.
They still need help finding some couches to crash on along the way, as well as some small donations for their journey. To get involved click the link here and support their efforts.

If you are in the area, you can drop off at our studio — otherwise, please send them yourself. We are closed on Monday for MLK, but anytime on Tuesday would be great. If you think you won’t be able to get them here on Tuesday, then please send them to the Miami address. Thanks so much!
