Jeanie connects the dots. As case manager for Reason to Give, Jeanie develops and maintains relationships with our neighbors in need and other partner organizations throughout Humboldt Park.
After graduating in May of 2006, Jeanie enjoyed many short stints at cool jobs all around the world. Notable highlights include freelance travel writing for TripConnect and Here or There? and an internship with Boojum, an outdoor education company.
While in South America, Jeanie became interested in sustainable development (a subject she plans to pursue in her graduate studies) and eventually found Firebelly in a post on Idealist.
Anxious to be part of a socially responsible design studio, Jeanie offered to work as a research assistant (a position Firebelly had never considered) and began interning shortly after she returned to the US.
Using her skills set from university to help with the studio’s research, writing and copyediting, it became clear Jeanie’s practical analysis, global perspective and deep compassion made her the perfect person to handle case management.
Coordinating participant interviews, video editing, copywriting and community outreach, Jeanie looks forward to expanding Reason to Give’s services and developing the program further.
Inspired by large groups of people gathered together to fight the good fight, Jeanie believes in the power of tipping points and the strength of social movements.
Having lived in 5 countries and traveled to Austria, the Czech Republic, Spain, Italy, Scotland the Netherlands, Uruguay, Bolivia, France, Chile, Ireland and Argentina it's always been important for Jeanie to get out of her comfort zone and try new things. Her travels prove there is no single path to living an authentic life.
Jeanie studied Diplomacy + World Politics at the University of Richmond where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies.
